Special Activity Areas

""

Each grade level has a designated block of time to be used for special activities. Each day, children have either classroom Physical Education with their homeroom teacher or ana aide or a more structured Physical Education class with a gym teacher. Once a week, each child visits the library as well as goes to music. Each of these classes lasts for one-half hour.

In addition, each class has art with an art specialist once every other week for one hour. Children in grades K-2 have guidance lessons with the guidance counselor once a week. Students in the upper grades meet with the counselor in small groups and individually as needs arise. They also have lessons each six-week grading period related to the Character Counts pillars and SOL testing preparation.
